Need to find an accounting transaction in Design Manager and don't know where to look?
Need to figure out what happened with a specific transaction and don't know where to start?
One of the worst feelings is not knowing where to start when researching something that happened with your business. You don't have to worry about that any more. Just head straight to the Transaction Search Window and start typing the few pieces of information that you know. From there, the software shows you the accounting trail for that specific transaction so you can start to put the puzzle pieces together.
A few great examples of when to use the Transaction Search:
- Difference between a fiscal date and a keyed date
- Looking for a specific check amount
- Researching Voids or Returns
- Analyzing sales tax or vendor purchases for a specific project
- Finding Other Transactions listed on your monthly reports like Aged A/R, Aged A/P, WIP, Open Vendor Deposit, and Open Client Deposit

Search Suggestions:
Each transaction to the General Ledger will have at least one Debit record and Credit record. Such activity is classic accounting, however it does double the number of records that are displayed. You can filter these records by using the Account (Acct.) field. If you limit the search to a single Account then you will not see both sides of the entry.
The Keyed Date is the physical date that the user created the entry. The Date field is the date assigned to the entry by the user such as the Check Date, Cash Receipt Date, or Client Invoice Date.
The Transaction Number (Trans. No.) is the number that Design Manager assigns to each accounting entry. The transaction number is found on accounting journals and many reports. If you know the transaction number assigned to an entry, this is an excellent way to narrow your search.
